Gallery4allarts presents

‘APERTURES’

@ The Old Police Station, 80 Lark Lane, Liverpool, L17 8UU

Solo exhibition. Artist: Nicole Bartos

The painted ‘impressions’ are transforming the exhibition space they are brought into and a moving and surreal experience is born, where ones imagination opens up widely to searching and viewing its own myriads of stories and meanings. A paradox and true feast of colour; an imaginary space.
The installation/montage of oil paintings hanging down from the ceiling of the entry hall at the Old Police Station, comprises of several canvases created during 2015.

A special viewing will take place on 5th December during the classical music recital interval, estimated at 8.30pm, with digital music from Roger Edwards’ album launch which will be forming the sound background and ambiance for the show.

Statement:“A constellation is formed, by ‘nebulae’, ‘supernovae’; invisible bridges stretch amongst elements of light and fantasy seconds that spread across the emptiness. Spectrums and translucencies, energy and light falls, angel wings, spiritual or apocalyptic riders, symbols of fantasmagoric soldiers/ guardians of the souls, energy from a space of ‘emptiness’. Up there, in the sky, look! - And find your own journey into the heights of creative energy and peaceful contemplation through colour and vibration....Travel, and be still...Discover paradoxes, apertures of stillness, light speed, warming vibration of love and total stillness of silent sound. Enjoy!

The oil paintings on display form a kind of cosmic ‘aperture’, embracing us, those who enter the space. The installation is the result of a 2 days challenging journey on the tall ladders of ‘time’ and ‘silence’. Thank you to Alice, Mike and Rupert for all support to achieve this installation/ montage!” (The artist. 9th Oct 2015 / Gallery4allarts)

Short artistic statement 2014 - Notes about the artist, Nicole Bartos

Nicole Bartos mingles metaphysical and spiritual philosophy with meditation and pure art.
Her work embraces an invisible side of the world; she aims to paint the uncontrolled and immaterial, the ethereal and builds in pure chromatic, flowing energy and a concept of fusion with the 'Light'.
Her works are mainly created along with meditative practice, music or singing and her creative portfolio speaks about silence, music, stillness, light, meditation, thought vibration, prayer.
British artist and curator of Romanian-Hungarian origins, based in Liverpool, Nicole Bartos has experienced art in many different forms with great dedication and a thirst for discovery, experiment and authenticity.
Her best artistic achievements are in the field of mixed media, experimental art, and land art, site specific installation, abstract painting, experimental drawing, photography and ceramics sculpture.
Recently, Nicole has started to study and experiment with voice and music. She studies privately, training as a soprano, enjoying a classical and pre-classical repertoire. Here in Liverpool she is training with Nick Hardy (tenor) who leads the Liverpool Italian Opera Co. and with Irina Ljubohh (pianist and mezzo soprano). She also trains her voice and occasionally sings while abroad, on her creative trips, in Romania.
“My meditations with painting reveal facets of the spiritual journey I am in since 1996 and more recently, the searching for entries into the ‘lack of thought’ pattern, prayers without words. My aim is that the viewing eye will be encountering the experience to reconnecting with a peaceful state and a sense of contemplative meditation or, find its own ‘journey of thought’ pattern and inner poetry.
I hope that this selection of works, that come from a variety of cycles (3) created during 2001- 2012, reflects this and is well received by the audience here, at Domino gallery. It’s been a long period of 15 years since I first exhibited here at this gallery. Let’s celebrate this together with this show."
